The College of Business at Chung Yuan Christian University held its Sixth Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Chung Yuan Chapter Induction Ceremony on May 11, 2022. Due to the pandemic, the ceremony was conducted online, with Dean Cheng-Wen Lee of the College of Business leading all members in reciting the BGS pledge and awarding honorary membership certificates.
During the ceremony, the second cohort of officers for the BGS Chung Yuan Chapter International Student Union was announced. The student officers are:
Business Administration: Chia-Wen Chang, Yun-Jhen Chang, Jing-Wen Chang
Information Management: Yun-Hau Chang, Tzu-Yu Lin
Accounting: Yu-Lun Huang
Through this student organization, the BGS Chung Yuan Chapter aims to foster smoother communication and stronger connections between chapter members and the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma headquarters, enabling members to uphold the BGS mission and fully enjoy its membership benefits.
Chung Yuan Christian University established its BGS chapter in September 2016, becoming eligible after earning accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The mission of BGS is to recognize and celebrate academic excellence in business studies, develop leadership and professional skills among its members, and enhance the value of the organization while serving its lifelong members.
This year, a total of 36 honorary members were inducted, including 33 students and 3 faculty members. Membership eligibility for students is based on their academic performance: undergraduate students in their junior year or above must rank in the top 10% of their class or department, master’s students must rank in the top 20%, and doctoral candidates must have passed their qualification exams.
Thanks to everyone’s enthusiastic participation, the sixth induction ceremony was a resounding success. Over the years, thanks to the dedication of our outstanding faculty and students, the BGS Chung Yuan Chapter earned numerous High Honors and Highest Honors from 2016 to 2021. With the addition of new members, we look forward to achieving even greater accomplishments and continuing to uphold the honor of Chung Yuan!
