Faculty and Student Visited Guangzhou

Invited by Sun Yat-Sen University of China, Assistant Professor of International Business, Chun-Tsung Chin led a group of five CYCU students to Guangzhou, China to attend “Students from Guangdong and Taiwan to share passion of Chinese Culture” activity from August 4 to 9, 2014. Among five students, Ting-Yu Chu, is a senior student from Department of Management Information Systems, the other four come from Applied Linguistics and Foreign Language Department and Civil Engineering Department. CYCU has established sister university relationship with Sun Yat-Sen University for many years and has frequent exchanges and visits.

During six days of visit, they toured Republic of China Military Academy (founded in 1924), Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Residence, Taiwanese business InnoLux Co., and exchanged views with students of Sun Yat-Sen University. In addition, students rode bike for 16 Km around the university town, touring Pearl River in the evening on a boat, rowing a dragon boat on Pearl River in the daytime so they could understand the city better.
Student Ting-Yu Chu is the first time taking the flight out of Taiwan. She was impressed by the progress of Mainland China and made a number of good friends during the visit. They send messages frequently using the Wechat. Professor Chin said “I visited Sun Yan-Sen University in 2002 for one night only, this time I can stay for six days and understand the humanistic features of Guangzhou which is remarkable.”
