The Only Recipient in Taiwan! CYCU Business Alumnus Dr. Peng Choong Leng Wins Dual BGS Awards

Dr. Peng Choong Leng, a distinguished alumnus of the College of Business at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), has achieved a historic milestone. On April 14, 2026, at an award ceremony held in Seattle, USA, he was honored by Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS)—the International Business Honor Society—with both the Business Achievement Award and the Entrepreneurial Achievement Award. Dr. Peng has made a historic achievement: The first person in over 100 years of BGS history to sweep both awards and is the first person in Taiwan’s history to receive this double honor. This achievement is a testament to his professional excellence and highlights CYCU’s strength in cultivating world-class leaders.

A Leader in Green Industry Transformation
A veteran entrepreneur from Malaysia, Dr. Peng founded IQS Wood SDN. BHD. in 2006. With a visionary mindset, he has led the transformation of the traditional wood manufacturing industry into a modern, eco-friendly, and sustainable green business. By successfully implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, he has become a key leader in sustainable industrial development and cross-border collaboration in the Asia-Pacific region. His career perfectly reflects CYCU’s commitment to balancing professional expertise with ethics.

Global Recognition in Seattle
To witness this moment of glory, Dr. Peng and his wife traveled to the Seattle Convention Center (Summit Building) for the ceremony. The event was held during the International Conference and Annual Meeting (ICAM) hosted by AACSB International, bringing together top business school deans and academic elites from around the globe. Dr. Ming-Lei Chang, Dean of the CYCU College of Business, and Dr. Yu-Lun Chen, Associate Dean, also attended the conference in the U.S. to witness Dr. Peng’s outstanding global achievement.

A Model of BGS Core Values
During the ceremony, BGS officials stated that Dr. Peng received the dual awards for his visionary leadership in “Sustainable Entrepreneurship” and his long-term dedication to business innovation, education, and social welfare. His achievements embody the BGS core values of Honor, Wisdom, and Earnestness, making him a role model recognized by both the business and academic communities.

CYCU College of Business faculty joined Dr. Peng at the ceremony.

Deep Connection with Taiwan and CYCU
Dr. Peng’s journey with Taiwan began in 1986 when he arrived from Malaysia to study International Business at CYCU. In 2021, he returned to the CYCU College of Business for his doctoral studies, earning his PhD in 2024. Over the years, he has remained deeply connected to his alma mater. Alongside his wife, he has actively given back to society and supported younger generations. In 2024, he was honored with the 4th Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award by the Ministry of Education for his contributions to educational exchange between Taiwan and Malaysia.
