Professors Yi-Fen Chen and Ching-Hsien Lai from the Department of International Business and Trade guided their student team to win the Outstanding Award in the AI Marketing Video Creation Category at the 2025 Topco Marketing Award.

The student team from our Department of International Business and Trade excelled in the prestigious competition, known as the “Oscars of Taiwan’s Marketing Industry,” hosted by the Taiwan Academy of Management, commissioned by Topco Scientific, and co-organized by Yongan Fresh Produce. This year’s contest centered on the theme of “AI in Marketing Applications,” drawing 1,197 participants across 253 teams from 42 universities nationwide. After rigorous preliminary reviews, 100 teams advanced to the finals held on May 24 at the Topco Group headquarters. Our team stood out among the elite finalists, ultimately winning the Outstanding Award in the AI Marketing Video Creation Category.

The award-winning team members—Yi-Hua Lee, Wen-Hsuan Lee, Chih-Yu Chang, Yi-Hsuan Liu, and Yu-En Cheng—were coached by Professors Yi-Fen Chen and Ching-Hsien Lai. Over one and a half months of intensive preparation, they worked tirelessly on script development, video production, project planning, competitor analysis, and presentation rehearsals. Their dedication paid off as they claimed the Outstanding Award and a scholarship of NT$30,000.

The judging panel consisted of marketing experts from industry, government, and academia, underscoring the competition’s high standards and level of difficulty. Standing out from over 1,100 submissions showcased the students’ exceptional skills in AI-powered digital marketing, strategic video communication, and practical project execution, while also highlighting the Department’s strengths in marketing management and innovative teaching.

Professor Yi-Fen Chen commented:
“Our students demonstrated remarkable self-discipline and teamwork throughout the process—late-night discussions, countless revisions, and rehearsing presentations until the night before the competition. Winning the Outstanding Award against strong contenders from 42 universities is truly a testament to their persistence and dedication.”

Professor Ching-Hsien Lai added:
“Capturing attention within a 45-second video is a major challenge for any marketing creator. The team skillfully applied the AISDAS model—Attention, Interest, Search, Desire, Action, Share—to deliver the core value of the product, service, and brand with precision. Their performance not only reflects individual growth and effort but also demonstrates our school’s achievements in advancing marketing technology and digital marketing education.”

The university will continue to encourage students to participate in professional competitions, strengthen industry-academia connections through hands-on and cross-disciplinary learning, and enhance future employability. This achievement not only recognizes the efforts of the team but also sets a benchmark for integrating academic learning with marketing practice.
