CYCU College of Business and MTSU 2025 International Business Camp –Cross-Cultural Skills and Sustainability Practice

Since 2010, the College of Business at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) and Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) have partnered each summer to host the International Business Camp. This long-standing collaboration aims to nurture future business leaders with a global mindset and practical skills. In the summer of 2025, a total of 26 students (8 from the U.S. and 18 from CYCU) took part in the camp from June 25 to July 11, engaging in both academic courses and cultural exchange activities.

The camp was conducted in English, with a curriculum topics such as business marketing, innovative thinking, local culture, and sustainable development, including company visits and group project discussions. This year’s program included five days of company visits field trips, featuring both public and private organizations such as Taipei Rapid Transit Co., Taipei City Traffic Control Center, Grape King Bio, Kuozui Motor (TOYOTA), Kuo’s Astral Bookshop, Kuo Yuan Ye Foods, and CAN- Culture, Art & Nature Organization. Cultural activities such as visits to Indigenous communities, Hakka tea-pounding, and guided tours of military villages were also arranged, allowing international students to gain appreciation of Taiwanese culture.

This year’s program focus on sustainability through practical learning. Students visited “CAN- Culture, Art & Nature Organization ,” a local social enterprise, to see how a business can balance profit-making with social responsibility. The company uses its profits to support education for children in need and to keep local traditions alive. Through this experience, students gained a better understanding of how business can be a force for positive social change, not just for making money.

Students said the camp helped them learn more about business, improve their English, and see the world from a more global point of view by working closely with MTSU students.
The CYCU College of Business will continue to deepen its partnerships with MTSU and other schools around the world. By combining business lessons, cultural exchange, and social care into its programs, the college hopes to develop globally-minded business professionals who think globally and care about local issues—truly living out the vision of “Starting from CYCU, connecting with the world.”
