On January 7, 2022, the College of Business at Chung Yuan Christian University hosted the 2021+ International Conference on Advancements of Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility. Held online, the event featured 2006 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus, who shared international perspectives aimed at inspiring socioeconomic development in the post-pandemic era.
The first keynote speech, delivered by Dr. Jack Cheng Yu-Chao from the National University of Singapore, was titled “Corporate Social Responsibility in the Era of Economic Globalization: Fairness and Efficiency.” This session offered participants a deeper understanding of the evolution and challenges of corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The second keynote speech featured Dr. Muhammad Yunus, who joined the conference virtually to discuss “Post-Pandemic Economic Recovery Through Social Business Initiatives.” He highlighted how social business initiatives could lead to economic recovery, restore global economic stability, and support vulnerable populations in need.
In the afternoon, eight parallel sessions were held at the Tzu Chiang Building, with 34 academic papers presented by scholars from Taiwan and Vietnam. Topics included:

Established in 2010, the Corporate Social Responsibility Center at Chung Yuan Christian University has been hosting the International Conference on Advancements of Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility annually since 2005, fostering significant research contributions in this field. In November 2019, the university partnered with international organizations to establish the Yunus Social Business Centre, making it the 10th university in Taiwan to collaborate with Dr. Muhammad Yunus. This initiative underscores Chung Yuan’s proactive approach to advancing business ethics and CSR.
Cheng-Wen Lee, Dean of the College of Business, emphasized that Chung Yuan Christian University upholds the philosophy of Holistic Education, striving for a balanced development of professional expertise and character. The university aims to instill ethical awareness and a strong sense of social responsibility in its students.
