The 2022 International Conference on Advancements of Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility Concludes Successfully

The “2022 International Conference on Advancements of Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility,” jointly organized by the College of Business, the Department of Business Administration, and the Center for Corporate Social Responsibility, successfully concluded on October 28, 2022.

The conference invited two expert scholars to deliver keynote speeches. The first keynote was given by Dr. Imran Chowdhury, Director of the Center for Social Entrepreneurship at Wheaton College, who presented on “The American Experience of Social Entrepreneurship.” Through an online presentation, he shared insights into the history and development of social entrepreneurship in the U.S., helping participants understand the various approaches to solving social issues.

The second keynote was delivered by Dr. Jack Cheng Yu-Chao from the Master of IP and Innovation Management at the Singapore University of Social Sciences. His presentation, titled “Patent Opportunities and Advancements in Southeast Asia’s SDGs Initiatives,” discussed the integration of intellectual property with sustainable development goals and Southeast Asia’s progress in sustainability-related issues.

In the afternoon, six academic sessions were held across three classrooms in the College of Business, where scholars from Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam presented a total of 19 academic papers. The topics covered included: Corporate Functions and Social Responsibility, Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility, SDGs and Social Practices: Rural and Urban Sustainable Development and Multilateral Partnerships, Youth SDGs Action and Local Revitalization, Intellectual Property and SDGs, and ESG and Corporate Financial Performance.

Cheng-Wen Lee, Dean of the College of Business at Chung Yuan Christian University, emphasized that the university’s educational philosophy highlights “Holistic Education,” aiming to achieve a balanced development of professionalism and character, while also raising students’ ethical awareness and sense of social responsibility.
