Cross-disciplinary business education builds global competitiveness and cultivates international talent
On March 3, 2026, Peng Choong Leng, Chairperson and alumnus of the Department of International Business and Trade and PhD in Business Administration from the College of Business at Chung Yuan Christian University, received both the “Business Achievement Award” and the “Entrepreneurial Achievement Award” from the international honor society Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS). He not only became one of the very few global business leaders to receive both international honors simultaneously, but also set a historic record as the only recipient in Taiwan to achieve this dual recognition, highlighting the outstanding international influence of the CYCU College of Business on the global business stage.
The College of Business successfully passed the continuous accreditation of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in January 2026, maintaining its position among the top 5% of business schools worldwide. Meanwhile, the CYCU BGS chapter has also demonstrated outstanding performance, receiving the “Highest Honors Chapter” recognition for seven consecutive years, making it the only university in Taiwan to achieve this distinction.
Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) is one of the most prestigious business honor societies in the world, with members primarily drawn from AACSB-accredited leading business schools. The international recognition received by alumnus Peng Choong Leng demonstrates the strength of CYCU’s business education within global professional standards, and also reflects the university’s long-term dedication to AACSB accreditation and the BGS honor society system.
Chairperson Peng stated that his university years at CYCU were the most rewarding period of his life. The university’s “holistic education” philosophy had a profound impact on his personal development, leading him to devote his career to sustainable business management and social contribution. This is also a key reason why he chose to pursue a doctoral degree at the CYCU College of Business.

He further noted that the College of Business offers a comprehensive business curriculum, including the Department of Business Administration, the Department of International Business and Trade, Accounting, Finance, the Department of Information Management, and Temple programs. With such an academic structure and cross-disciplinary programs, students can easily pursue double majors or minors. In addition, the curriculum integrates emerging topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) and ESG sustainability, combined with domestic and international internships and industry-academia collaboration, forming a strong interdisciplinary training model. As global industries rapidly transform, the College continues to strengthen students’ practical skills and innovative thinking to help them prepare for future careers.
Chairperson Peng further emphasized that the Department of Business Administration develops overseas internships and integrates local revitalization projects, allowing students to participate in marketing, product development, and cross-cultural exchange, thereby engaging directly in regional industrial development and sustainable business models while stepping onto the global stage. His alma mater department, the Department of International Business and Trade, is well known for its practice-oriented approach, embodying the concept of “industry-ready upon enrollment.” Similarly, the Accounting Department offers million-dollar scholarships and corporate internships, with many students receiving offers from the Big Four accounting firms as early as the first semester of their senior year, which left a strong impression on him. The Department of Information Management focuses on AI intelligence and medical innovation, with student teams winning first place nationally for eight consecutive years in competitions. The Department of Finance integrates courses in Python data analysis, blockchain, and ESG investing, and collaborates with stock exchanges and financial institutions to establish employment-oriented programs.

He also highlighted that, in addition to its diverse learning features, CYCU promotes international education through its partnership with Temple University in the United States, establishing the “Temple Program.” Courses are fully taught in English, allowing students to earn dual degrees from both CYCU and Temple University.
Chairperson Peng said that his learning experience at CYCU College of Business remains an unforgettable part of his youth, filled with encouragement from classmates, dedicated guidance from professors, and the shaping influence of holistic education. All of these have supported him in confidently moving forward in his entrepreneurial and business career.
