In response to the trend of Taiwanese businesses reshoring and to promote accelerated industrial upgrades and transformation, the Center for Global Taiwanese Business Studies at Chung Yuan Christian University’s College of Business organized the “Strategic Forum on Intelligent Transformation for Taiwanese Businesses.” The forum invited renowned business leaders to share strategies and practices for intelligent transformation. Koon-Lian Kao, President of the Straits Economic & Cultural Interchange Association, highlighted in his keynote speech that the business environment in recent years has faced significant challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the US-China trade war, and climate change. He emphasized the need for businesses to adopt new concepts and technologies to foster intelligent and digital transformation, paving the way for Taiwan’s economic development into a new phase.

This forum featured four prominent industry leaders sharing their experiences in successfully utilizing intelligent technologies to address global challenges, such as the pandemic and supply chain restructuring:

Simon Chang, President and COO of Delta Electronics, Inc., described how the company evolved from power and energy management into a leader in digital manufacturing. Delta’s “5C Strategy” (Context, Change, Choices, Commitment, Consistency) has enabled them to navigate high-entry-barrier markets with long-term dedication. Over the next decade, Delta will focus on intelligent solutions in industrial automation, data centers, energy infrastructure, building automation, and electric vehicles. Additionally, the company is committed to achieving 100% renewable energy usage and carbon neutrality across global operations by 2030, promoting environmental sustainability.

Shih-Ming Huang, Chairman of Celxpert Energy Corporation, one of Taiwan’s top three battery pack manufacturers, emphasized that their success as a leading battery system supplier stems from creating win-win solutions for clients. Beyond product transformation, Celxpert has also undergone changes in marketing, manufacturing, and operations. He noted, “The most challenging part of business management is talent acquisition—finding the right people ensures the right results. Operations are driven not by management alone but by standardized processes across R&D, design, and production.”

Ting-Zai Chien, Chairman of Hung Meng International Development Corp., shared his journey of transforming a traditional sculpture manufacturing business into a cultural and creative technology company. Known for creating life-like sculptures, Hung Meng has collaborated on projects for Shanghai Disneyland, the U.S. Disney parks, the Chimei Museum, and The Venetian Macao.
